"I ordered the 20 round option to try them out. The pricey snap caps I used to buy in the stores give you very few to work with. I like the Snappoint snap caps for cycle testing after cleaning my guns and for some dry fire practice. But, I wanted them mostly for cycle testing of brand new fully loaded magazines. Many mags, including some of the original gun manufacture's mags, (and especially 3rd party mags) need a little attention and work internally... before they become reliable (burrs, flashing, rough spots, etc.). This gives me the realistic weight and feel of REAL cartridges without the risk of using real live ammo... and then having to worry about the rare, but possible...catastrophic failure later at the range due to bullet setback. It also prevents the other real possibility of a negligent discharge occurring when using live ammo! These are mostly real... but, no primer, no gunpowder! Hey, I’m Connor, and I built SnapPoint to fix a problem every shooter knows.

I’ve been dry firing for years — from USPSA match prep to everyday carry drills. But I was always frustrated by snap caps that felt nothing like real ammo. Light, plastic, and flimsy just didn’t cut it.

So when I picked up a Dillon 750 to start reloading, I decided to build my own.

What started as a side project turned into something bigger. Today, SnapPoint snap caps are hand-pressed using repurposed 9mm range brass, realistic-weight projectiles in 115gr, 124gr, or 147gr, and our custom SnapPlug primer for safe, repeatable dry fire.

They're built to look, feel, and cycle like live rounds — because that’s how training should feel.
